& Custom pottery

Hello and welcome to Down the Road Clayworks!

This pottery is the result of years of work and study,
I've worked as a potter's apprentice, ceramic studio foreman, and R&D associate for a ceramic tile factory.
I currently throw work from stoneware clays, both red and white bodies.
All my glazes are lead-free. My wares are dishwasher-safe, and microwave-safe.
If you have any questions please feel free to contact me.

Barrels
A most popular item. The barrel mug with tentacle handle. I also offer standard handle, no handle tumblers, and half-barrel versions. I ocassionally also make barrel bowls, coffee makers, utensil holders, and more.
Knotted Vessels
Down the Road's flagship vessel. I offer various mugs, bowls, jars, and vases with hand-carved infinite-loop knots.
Each vessel is subtley unique with a one-of-a-kind knotwork to match.
Mugs and pitchers are available with either standard or braided handles.
Cauldrons
A newer favorite. These little cauldrons are made in small batches and each has their own expression.
See them in person at one of my summer vending events!
Live Wheel-Throwing & Hand-building demos:
Throuought the summer Down the Road Clayworks can be found at many of the wonderful renaissance fairs and Celtic festivals across Oregon.
See the current list of events above!
Chase, the Potter
I bring my kickwheel out to the fairs and demonstrate the art and craft of throwing pottery without electricity.

Here I am carving the Celtic knot pattern into a pitcher on site at the Canterbury Renaissance Faire, Silverton Oregon.
One of my personal favorite fairs!
